Pomponio Beach is featured in a previous post about a gray-day panorama. Beaches are good places to find texture patterns. The margin between sand and conventional grasses is often home to an interesting assortment of plant life. Taking this photo involved nothing more than looking down and framing the image.

The star-shaped plant is a focal point in the texture pattern, so I put it near a one-third one-third point as a concession to composition rules. The image contrast was adjusted a little in Photoshop. Note the out-of-focus item in the lower left. More care in adjusting depth of field by stopping down might have prevented that, but I always have the generic quickshotartist excuse of being in a rush.
The patches of color in the image suggest it might make a good posterized image.

The posterized version suggests to me a fabric pattern that might have appear on a decorative cushion years ago. Or maybe a velvet painting … maybe not that bad.
